Opening a simulator from the Learning Platform on Android

To open a CloudLabs simulator using an Android device, it is important to keep in mind the following points, as the opening process differs slightly from devices with operating systems such as Windows or macOS.

1. You can go to https://platform.cloudlabs.us.

2. There you enter your credentials, email and password to access the Dashboard and the labs.

3. You can find the lab in the “My labs” section through the search engine or by filtering by Area or Topic.

4. Once you know which simulator you want to access, click on the “Access the laboratory” button.

5. In this view, click on the “Download” button.

6. At this point a file with .apk extension will be downloaded. This file is the one that will allow us to run the simulator once downloaded. You should proceed to install the application in a typical way, taking into account that if the device does not have the “Unknown sources” option enabled, you can be guided by this explanation of how to enable this option: Allow unknown sources.

7. Once installed the application that contains the simulation, you can NOT open this .apk. This is because you will get a message in a window that says “It was not possible to check your license number. Make sure you are opening this application from the CloudLabs main menu”.

8. You can go back to the website where you downloaded the simulator, in this case the CloudLabs platform in your browser, and press again the button that says “Download”.

9. At this point you should be able to access the simulator without any inconvenience.

10. Make sure that the downloaded application that executes the simulator has the permission to read and write files, since this will allow that at the moment of generating the lab report in .pdf extension, there is no problem to save this file.
